FAQs

Are these final prices? No, all totals are prices subject to confirmation. Can I order immediately? Yes: place an order request from your basket. We confirm sizes and options, then send an invoice for payment before manufacture. No payment is taken online. Should I measure myself? Have final dimensions checked by your installer.

Aluminium French doors

French doors are a pair of hinged leaves that open from the centre. They give a classic look and a generous opening without the larger width a bi-fold needs, which makes them a good fit for smaller openings and period homes. This configurator offers standard French doors, heritage-style doors with glazing bars, and heritage doors with side panels.

Sizes

Overall frame width can be from 1,200 mm to 2,400 mm and height from 1,900 mm to 2,300 mm. Measure your structural opening at several points and use the smallest figures, allowing a fitting tolerance agreed with your installer. If your opening is wider, consider bi-fold doors or sliding doors. Our comparison guide can help you decide.

Options

Our French doors open outwards. Choose which leaf is the master (the one you open first), the frame colour (Anthracite grey (RAL 7016), White (RAL 9016) and Black (RAL 9005), plus dual colour (white inside, grey outside) and bespoke RAL colours) and the glass: double glazed clear (Low-E, argon) as standard, with self-cleaning, solar control, triple glazed and obscure (privacy) options. Thresholds are standard rebated or low.

Hardware included

Every door comes with standard hardware, including a lever handle and an Ultion high-security cylinder lock.

Supply only: what that means

Glazing Counter supplies products for your own builder or installer to fit. We don’t survey or install. That keeps the price down and lets you use a fitter you trust, but it also means the sizes you order are your responsibility. Have your installer confirm the structural opening before you order, especially for made-to-measure products, which can’t be returned unless faulty (see returns).

Delivery

We deliver to UK mainland addresses, quoted separately by postcode. Delivery is to the kerbside or nearest accessible ground-floor point, and someone aged 18 or over needs to be there to check the goods. Large glazed frames are heavy, so have help on hand to unload. Please inspect everything and report any damage within 48 hours, before installation.

How ordering works

There is no online payment. Add your configured item to the basket and send an order request. We check every size and option, then email you an order confirmation and an invoice that includes delivery to your postcode. You pay by bank transfer, and manufacture is booked once payment has cleared. Read more on our delivery page and in our terms.
